Nana Buruku is the grandmother of the entire  Orisha( West African spirit) pantheon.  She is an all powerful swamp witch and healer who is seen as a strong, beautifully large, black-skinned female African elder with a commanding presence.  She is all power and takes pride in the space she takes up. People call upon Nana Buruku for intensive healing in areas such as rape, spousal (and partner) abuse, ecological trauma, life, and death.

This form black salt is also known as “witch’s salt”, which contains a secret blend of botanicals blessed and burned before being added to the salt mixture.  The creation of Nana Buruku’s salt isn’t just a compilation of ingredients, it’s the culmination of a full moon’s cycle filled with rituals, blessings, songs, and lunar eclipse spellcasting.
